• A liturgical church:

The order of our service is designed to reflect the various aspects of our relationship to God’s grace from:
  • God’s Reverent calling of us to himself.
  • God’s Reconciliation with us through confession and assurance of divine pardon.
  • God’s Edifying work in us through the preaching of Holy Scripture.
  • Our Response to God’s grace through the tithe, and confession of faith and reception of the Lord’s Supper.
  • God’s Nourishment offered to us in the Lord’s Supper and benediction.
  • These various aspects of worship are accomplished through the corporate use of the means of Grace. The elements of worship include: singing, corporate prayer, the reading of the scripture, confession of sin and faith, the sacraments, and preaching of God’s holy word.
  • As Presbyterians, we honor our spiritual fathers of the reformed tradition, but beliefs within the culture in which we live.
  • Liturgy means ‘the work of the people’. Throughout scripture the work of God in his people is their total renewal - heart, soul, mind and strength. In essence their experience as creatures on God’s earth means the healing, and not fracturing, of the total man who he is in thought, action, emotion and worship.
  • The heart of our liturgy is the desire for you to know and experience the liberation of Christs gospel. This practically occurs through active participation in the liturgy.

• Our Basic Beliefs

God
We believe in one God who really exists, who created everything there is, who is everywhere and knows everything. He is a spirit, infinite, eternal, and unchangeable in His being, wisdom, power, holiness, justice, goodness, and truth. We believe He is one God who exists in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus was born of the virgin Mary, died on the cross, and physically rose again on the third day after His crucifixion. He is fully God and fully man, the only one who can mediate between God and man. He is and will be the judge of all the earth. We believe that through His death our sins are forgiven and that we are accepted by God.

The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit is God continually working in the world to glorify Christ by convicting people of sin and drawing them to God. Through the work of the Holy Spirit we are given a relationship to God that affects all aspects of our life.

Salvation
We believe that God has chosen a people for Himself from the foundation of the world, and that He calls those people to Himself, saves them from hopelessness and condemnation by forgiving their sins and giving them eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. We believe heaven is the desire and destination of all who believe in Christ as the Son of God and hell is the place of eternal separation and anguish for all who do not.

The Bible
Interpreting and applying the Bible is hard but important work. We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testament are divinely inspired, worth careful study, relevant in our time, without error, and trustworthy in all matters of faith, life, and godliness.

Worship:

Everything is printed in order and like anything else new the more you are a part of it the more familiar it becomes. Pray for God to illuminate your understanding of the various readings, prayers, and songs so you are able to worship in spirit and truth with mind and heart. Some look wrongly at liturgical services and think they are either ‘rote or catholic’ nothing could be further from the truth for at the heart of our liturgy is the desire for everyone present to know the liberation of Christ’s gospel and to engage actively in worship not simply sit back and watch someone respond to God for you from a distance.
