Matt & Becky

“Now the Lord said to Abram, “Go from your country and your kindred, and your father's house to the land that I will show you.” Gen 12:1

When Becky and I first decided on moving to Eugene we came to the understanding that we were leaving quite the community behind us in Montana. We had a great relationship with our church, and several deep long standing friendships. But, regardless of that, we felt the desire to pull up roots and move to Eugene. Moving to a new place is stressful, and we had to reconcile with the idea that all of our plans could go horribly, horribly wrong. We've been here for almost a year now, and I have to say that we're both shocked at how abundantly God has provided for us. Looking back on the past year we have no alternative but to praise God in us provision for us. Becky took a management position at a local cafe, and in a few short months has been promoted to be the full time store manager. I can't tell you that after months of job searching I was really optimistic, but in the midst of that discouragement I was asked by the session of Cascade to take over the Reformed Campus Fellowship as a Pastoral Intern. To have God reiterate his call to both Becky and I has been of great encouragement to us. To sum up the past year for Becky and I: it could have been a disaster. But God has so moved in our circumstances here in Eugene that we are thriving and happy. Praise be to God.
